Killeshandra is a centre of excellence for coarse angling in Ireland.

There are numerous lakes and rivers in the area and the famous Killykeen Forest Park and Lough Oughter system provide some of the best coarse angling in the country. Species available include pike, perch, bream, roach, rudd, hybrids, tench, carp and eel. There is no licence required for coarse angling in Killeshandra.

Game Angling

There is one trout fishery in Killeshandra. You do require a permit to fish here.
Creenagh Lake, Killeshandra: Mixed trout fishery located 3 miles outside Killeshandra off the R201 Carrigallan Road. Fishing from boat. Boats available. Day and half day tickets available.
Season: 1 May to 31 October. Angling Methods: All legal methods. Bag Limit: Three trout limit
